Acceptable Use Policy

Safety first. Electricity is dangerous. BreakerBoxMap is a documentation tool, not a safety device and not a substitute for a licensed electrician. Never rely on a label alone before working on a circuit — always verify at the panel and de-energize. If you are unsure, stop and consult a qualified professional.

This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) governs your use of BreakerBoxMap, a service of Webtropic, Inc. (“BreakerBoxMap,” “we,” or “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to this Policy. We will continue to expand it over time.

1. What BreakerBoxMap is — and is not

BreakerBoxMap helps you record and label the breakers in an electrical panel and tie that record to a QR code. It is an informational and organizational aid only. It is not a substitute for a licensed electrician, a professional inspection, an official circuit-directory review, or compliance with any electrical code. We do not inspect, test, verify, or validate any panel, circuit, or piece of information you enter.

2. Your documentation is your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and currency of everything you document, including breaker locations, descriptions, ratings, and which circuit controls what. Specifically, you are responsible for:

Verifying every label against the actual panel and the actual load it controls;
Correctly identifying main disconnects, multi-pole breakers, and spare/unused positions;
Keeping the documentation up to date after any electrical change, repair, or renovation;
Ensuring your labels are clear and specific enough to be useful in an emergency.

An inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or missing label can cause someone to work on the wrong circuit. You accept full responsibility for that risk. Do not rely on BreakerBoxMap—or on any label produced with it—as your only source of truth before touching electrical equipment.

3. Code compliance is your responsibility

Electrical labeling requirements vary by country, state, and local jurisdiction (for example, in the United States the National Electrical Code and local amendments). You are responsible for determining which rules apply to you and for meeting them. BreakerBoxMap does not guarantee that any panel you document, or any label or directory you print, satisfies any code, standard, or inspection requirement. Your local authority having jurisdiction is the final word.

4. Authorized use only

You agree to use BreakerBoxMap only for lawful purposes, and only to document panels that you own or are authorized to document. You agree not to:

Document, access, or claim a panel or code you have no right to;
Use the service to endanger any person or property, or to facilitate unlawful activity;
Interfere with, probe, or disrupt the service or other users’ data.

5. Public panels

If your plan allows it and you choose to make a panel public, anyone with the code will be able to view that panel’s breaker layout. We omit the property address from the public view, but you remain responsible for what you choose to expose, including anything you typed into breaker labels or names. Do not make a panel public if its labels contain information you would not want shared.

6. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the service or any documentation produced with it is error-free or code-compliant.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BreakerBoxMap and Webtropic, Inc. will not be liable for any injury, death, fire, property damage, or other loss or damage arising out of or related to your use of the service or your reliance on any information documented with it—including loss caused by inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated documentation. You assume all risk associated with working on or near electrical equipment.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the service grows. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
